David Cramer has been directly involved in education for over 35 years in a wide variety of roles including teaching preschool, middle school, high school and both undergraduate and graduate courses. He has been a secondary and elementary school administrator and has served as head of school at four international schools, including AIS/D Dhaka, Bangladesh; ACS Abu Dhabi, UAE; ACS La Paz, Bolivia and JIS, Jakarta, Indonesia.
In 2009 David joined the U.S. Department of State where he worked in the Office of Overseas Schools as a Regional Education Officer for 6 years. During that time he covered Central and Eastern Europe and Africa, and worked with many schools in both regions supporting school boards, administrators, teachers, parents and students through grants, professional development and counseling. In addition, throughout his international education career David has served on the boards of four regional international education associations including NESA, EARCOS, CEESA and AISA.
David received his BS degree in education from Virginia Tech and his M.Ed and D.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from The Pennsylvania State University. Following an initial 5 year stint of international teaching in Thailand and Saudi Arabia, David returned to graduate school and completed his administrative credential at The California State University at Chico. He then headed back overseas with his family, this time as an administrator. All told he has taught for 11 years and has been a school administrator for 22 years.
David and his wife, Diane, raised their two daughters internationally. Both girls graduated from international schools and greatly benefited from their education and experiences. Having lived and worked as an educator in 8 countries, over a period of time exceeding 35 years, David possesses a variety of perspectives gained from those experiences that serve him well as a Senior Associate specializing in leadership searches.
