Search January London Fair: Great Numbers, Greater Support

Central London felt a bit more bustle the third week of January. 650 candidates and 163 schools poured into the Gloucester Hotel to fulfill 1,200 job openings. To pave the way, the Search Team, led by Senior Associate and Fair Organizer Gez Hayden, arrived in full force. Executive Vice President David Cope and Senior Associates Bob Barlas, Harry Deelman, Dr. Barry Drake, Diana Kerry, and John Ritter, along with their assistants and office staff, provided extensive support to all attendees. Gez commented,

"The advisory system we deployed was highly valued by candidates, and recruiters took good advantage of the attending Associates' personal knowledge of many of the candidates present."

As Search Associates celebrates its 25th year of outstanding service, we have kept our promise to offer quality, personal attention, despite the size of the job fair. A candidate wrote,

"I will happily recommend Search to friends. It is the way I have found my last three jobs. It is a great resource for searching for jobs via the database and for making in-person connections. But one of the main components that I have found to be invaluable has been the support and guidance from the advisors [who] have all been so helpful, supportive, and knowledgeable. Without my advisors this would have been a much, much more difficult endeavor."

Search January London is specifically designed for teachers and administrators experienced in the International Baccalaureate Program, which includes the Primary Years Program (PYP), the Middle Years Program (MYP), and the Diploma Program (DP). Additionally, the Fair is focused on those with experience in the various British international curricula: International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), Key Stages, International General Certificate of Education (IGSE), and A Levels. One candidate described it as a

"… fruitful experience, not only in terms of acquiring a job, but in terms of networking and making connections."

Gez anticipates over 330 positions will be filled from that busy, long January weekend in London. As the Search Team board their flights to their offices, or to the next international Search Job Fair, they will rest assured, knowing they have done their very best to match excellent schools with top-notch educators. Search Associates receive the richest reward when they open their laptops to find comments like this:

"I can't thank you enough for the support and [the] confidence that you had in finding the right fit for me."
